- 2023 model gets a small power bump
- Likely to cost about Rs 1.5 lakh over the 2022 model
- Could also be equipped with winglets like the M1000RR
BMW Motorrad has teased its upcoming offering on its social media handles. The image is a silhouette of what could be the updated S1000RR. And just a few days ago, the test bike was spotted overseas in a production-ready form. So, it’s likely that the Bavarian manufacturer is set to unveil its updated supersport very soon.
From all the spy shots and leaked type approval documents in the last month, we’ve come to know that the 2023 BMW S1000RR will sport pretty much the same design with minor tweaks. Its split LED headlights will be carried over while the side panels would retain the shark gills from the previous generation model. The teaser image also shows winglets on the silhouette’s sides and the test mule too was equipped with the same.
The leaked documents revealed that the new S1000RR will retain the 999cc inline-four cylinder motor but with a 2bhp power bump over the current model. So, the output could now be rated at 206bhp. Furthermore, the front disc brake gets a duct for optimum cooling while running at high temperatures. Other changes like a 45 teeth rear sprocket instead of a 46 teeth unit could also be made on the 2023 model.
The teaser post says that the unveiling is scheduled for September 29. So, the wait isn’t long, and we could see the updated BMW S1000RR very soon. You can expect it to cost about Rs 1.5 lakh over the current model.
