- Gets more power than the 2022 model
- Features new aero kit for added downforce
- Boasts new features and rider aids
BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off the 2023 S1000RR. The bike has been updated on cosmetic, mechanical and features front for its latest iteration. Let’s dive deeper and see what it offers now.
The 2023 BMW S1000RR’s design and philosophy remain largely unchanged. This results in it carrying over the sharp and race-track-ready bodywork with an aggressive front end housing the split LED headlights. However, BMW is now offering the front winglets as a standard fitment for the base model too. These appendages tend to offer about 10kg of downforce to keep the front end planted. The windscreen too has been lengthened for a better tuck-in position.
Elsewhere, the swingarm now gets an adjustable pivot for customized settings based on the rider’s height and comfort. The rear end has received subtle tweaks and the S1000RR’s rear sprocket now gets 45 teeth instead of 46.
As mentioned above, the Bavarian supersport also gets a bump in its power output. So, the 999cc inline four-cylinder motor with BMW’s ShiftCam technology now dishes out 206.7bhp against the previous 204.7bhp. The bump is a result of minor tweaks like larger intake ports borrowed from the M1000RR.
Backing the blistering firepower is the new list of electronic nannies. The 2023 S1000RR now features Slide Control to let the rider slide the bike in a controlled manner while accelerating aggressively. Meanwhile, the new Slide Assist feature helps you slide the rear into turns using the rear brake. Rest all the features like riding modes, traction control, quickshifter and more have been retained. The 45mm suspension too has been revised and the bike now comes with a hill hold, USB charging port, and a pitlane limiter as well.
BMW will offer the 2023 S1000RR in three trims: standard, Sport, and M. We expect the prices for the Indian market to be out very soon. Our sources reveal that the bookings will commence very soon with the deliveries slated for early 2023.
