BMW recently introduced the updated S1000RR in the country just a few weeks after globally unveiling the motorcycle. So here we tell you all that you need to know about the 2023 iteration of the Bavarian supersport.
More downforce
BMW has used its learnings from the WSBK championship to tailor the limited-edition M1000RR that was introduced earlier this year. The 2023 iteration of the S1000RR is moulded from the same clay. While it retains the styling elements and aggressive design language as before, the Bavarian manufacturer has focused on performance upgrades even to its styling. So, the new model comes with aero winglets at the front. These come as standard fitment and are claimed to add a downforce of 10kg.
Added features
Adding to this update, the 2023 BMW S1000RR also gets a taller windscreen that wraps around more for a more comfortable tucked-in position. It also sports a sleeker rear section with a short number plate holder.
More power
While the 999cc, inline-four cylinder motor remains the same, the motor with its ShiftCam technology now delivers 206.5bhp which is 2bhp more than before. Torque figures stand at 113Nm at 11500rpm.
Loaded with tech
Just like the previous iteration, the 2023 BMW S1000RR comes loaded to the brim with electronics. It gets a traction control system with slide control, ABS with brake slide assist, four riding modes, hill start control, launch control, pitlane limiter and bi-directional quickshifter. You can also kit your BMW S1000RR with Race Pro 1 to 3 modes by shelling out extra.
Pricing
The S1000RR is available in three variants- standard, Pro and MSport. The most affordable of the lot is the standard variant at Rs 20.25 lakh. The Pro will set you back by Rs 22.15 lakh while the M Sport costs Rs 24.55 lakh, ex-showroom.
