Ducati India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the new Monster SP. This variant of the roadster-segment motorcycle joins the standard version to rival the likes of the Triumph Street Triple range, BMW F 900 R, and Kawasaki Z900 in the Indian market. Previously, we brought you the top five highlights of the 2023 Ducati Monster SP. Here we bring you a detailed image gallery of this premium variant of the Monster range.
The SP variant of the Ducati Monster range carries a similar design to the standard model. Thus, this version packs a projector-style headlight with an LED DRL, a compact fly-screen, a muscular fuel tank with integrated front turn indicators, a step-up seat, a side-slung twin-pod exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
The SP variant further benefits from the 2022 colours of the Ducati Lenovo Team's Desmosedici GP and a passenger seat cowl.
The premium version also gets higher-specification hardware. Thus, the suspension tasks are handled by Ohlins-sourced NIX 43mm upside-down front forks and an Ohlins rear monoshock – both fully adjustable. The front forks are 0.6kg lighter than the units used on the Monster and Monster Plus.
The braking setup includes twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema monoblock four-piston callipers at the front and a single 245mm rotor with Brembo two-piston calliper at the back.
The standard features on the new Ducati Monster SP include full-LED lighting and a 4.3-inch colour TFT display, while the Ducati Multimedia System and heated grips are available as optional accessories.
The comprehensive electronic rider aids on this motorcycle comprise three ride modes (Sport, Road, and Wet), cornering ABS, traction control, a launch control system, wheelie control, power modes, and a quick-shifter.
The mechanical specifications are identical on both versions, and the new Monster SP, similar to the standard model, uses a 937cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this engine makes 109.9bhp at 9,250rpm and 93Nm at 6,500rpm.
The new Ducati Monster SP has been launched at Rs. 15.95 lakh in our market, making it substantially more expensive than the standard version which is available at Rs. 12.95 lakh.
