Ducati India has updated its portfolio with the launch of its higher-spec 2023 Panigale V4 R. This motorcycle packs several upgrades over the standard model, and here we bring you a detailed image gallery of this BMW M1000RR rival.
Unlike the standard model, the R variant of the Panigale V4 uses a 998cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is claimed to deliver a maximum output of 215bhp at 15,500rpm and a peak torque of 111.3Nm at 12,000rpm.
Meanwhile, the Akrapovic-sourced full-race exhaust is claimed to push the maximum power and peak torque to 233bhp at 15,500rpm and 118Nm at 12,250rpm, respectively.
Further, the race exhaust system from Akrapovic is claimed to reduce the motorcycle's weight by five kilograms. Thus, with this setup, the Panigale V4 R tips the weighing scale at 167kg as against the 172kg with the standard system.
The suspension hardware on the R variant includes 43mm Ohlins NPX 25/30 front forks and an Ohlins TTX 36 rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable.
The braking tasks are handled by twin 330mm front discs with Brembo Monobloc Stylema M4.30 callipers with four-piston callipers at the front and a 245mm single rotor with a two-piston calliper at the back.
Then, the comprehensive electronics package on the R variant includes four riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, wheelie control, slide control, engine brake control, and auto tyre calibration.
This variant also comes with machined mirror block-off plates, a licence plate mount removal plug, and a Ducati data analyser with a GPS module to make it racetrack-ready.
Notably, the styling cues are similar to the standard Panigale V4. Thus, the R variant retains a twin-pod headlight assembly, full-fairing, aerodynamic winglets, a muscular fuel tank, a rider-only seat, and a single-sided swingarm.
However, it gets a different livery than the rest of the Panigale V4 variants.
