- Powered by a 998cc engine
- Makes 233bhp with Akrapovic exhaust system
- Priced at Rs. 69.99 lakh
Ducati India has announced the launch of its higher-spec 2023 Panigale V4 R in our market at an ex-showroom (India) price tag of Rs. 69.99 lakh.
The R variant of the Panigale V4 uses a Desmosedici Stradale, 998cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is claimed to deliver a maximum output of 215bhp at 15,500rpm and a peak torque of 111.3Nm at 12,000rpm. However, the Akrapovic-sourced, full-race exhaust is claimed to push the maximum power and peak torque to 233bhp at 15,500rpm and 118Nm at 12,250rpm, respectively. Notably, this race exhaust system helps the motorcycle shed five kilograms, tipping the weighing scale (dry) at 167kg as against the 172kg with the standard setup. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a bidirectional quickshifter.
The suspension hardware on this model includes 43mm Ohlins NPX 25/30 front forks and an Ohlins TTX 36 rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable. The braking system comprises twin 330mm front discs with Brembo Monobloc Stylema M4.30 callipers with four-piston callipers at the front and a 245mm single rotor with a two-piston calliper at the back.
Then, there is the comprehensive electronics package on the Panigale V4 R that includes four riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, wheelie control, slide control, engine brake control, and auto tyre calibration. The R variant also comes with machined mirror block-off plates, a license plate mount removal plug, and a Ducati data analyser with a GPS module.
Meanwhile, the styling cues are similar to the standard Panigale V4, and the R variant retains a twin-pod headlight assembly, full-fairing, aerodynamic winglets, a muscular fuel tank, a rider-only seat, and a single-sided swingarm. Notably, it gets a different livery than the rest of the Panigale V4 variants.
The Panigale V4 R rivals the likes of the BMW M 1000 RR in the Indian market. The bookings for the premium supersport motorcycle have already commenced across India.
