- Only Special variant on sale in India now
- Remains unchanged mechanically
- Optional tubeless spoke wheels are available
Harley-Davidson recently went on a launch spree and introduced a bunch of updated motorcycles in India. The list of newly-launched HD’s includes bikes in different categories including the 2023 Pan America adventure tourer.
Harley-Davidson has taken the standard variant of the Pan America off its portfolio and just brought the Special trim to India. This variant of the ADV can be opted for either with alloy wheels or spoke wheels. Notably, the latter comes with tubeless tyres and demands a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the former. Strangely, the American bike maker has kept the 2023 Pan America 1250 Special unaltered on all fronts and priced it at Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powering the motorcycle is a 1,252cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 150.9bhp at 8,750rpm and 128Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm. The electronics package is as impressive as the engine with features like lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, electronically linked braking system, hill hold control, cruise control, engine braking control, five pre-programmed riding modes, and three customisable modes. Moreover, Harley has also bestowed the bike with electronically adjustable semi-active suspension which allows tweaking the USDs and monoshock as per the riding conditions.
In India, the 2023 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 competes against the likes of the BMW R 1250 GS, Honda Africa Twin, and Ducati Multistrada V4.
