Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of the Super Splendor Xtec in the Indian market. This version of the motorcycle benefits from new features over the standard variant, and here we list the top five highlights of the new Hero Super Splendor Xtec.
How different is the feature list on the Hero Super Splendor Xtec?
The biggest update on the Super Splendor Xtec over the standard version includes the addition of a Bluetooth-enabled fully-digital display. The Bluetooth module gives access to additional features such as missed call alerts, SMS alerts, incoming call alerts, and a phone battery level display. However, unlike some of the premium motorcycles from the brand, the display on the Super Splendor Xtec does not show turn-by-turn navigation. Other data available on the console include a speedometer, odometer, two trip meters, fuel gauge, and real-time fuel economy. The motorcycle also features an LED headlight with LED DRL, a USB charging port, an idle start-stop system, a combined braking system, and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
Are there any visual changes to the Hero Super Splendor Xtec?
The overall styling remains similar to the standard version. However, the Xtec model benefits from a new design for the headlight that features an integrated LED DRL. Meanwhile, the styling elements retained from the standard motorcycle comprise a body-coloured headlight cowl, a body-coloured front fender, a curvy shape for the fuel tank, a single-piece seat, a single-piece grabrail, and a side-slung exhaust with chrome heat shield. Then, the colour palette for the Xtec version comprises three paint options – Gloss Black, Candy Blazing Red, and Matte Axis Grey. All three colour options feature identical graphics that are visible on the headlight cowl, fuel tank, and side and rear panels.
How different are the mechanical specifications on the Hero Super Splendor Xtec?
The Super Splendor Xtec retains the same 124.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, this motor makes the same 10.7bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm as the standard Super Splendor. However, the new Xtec variant is OBD2-A-compliant. The On-board Diagnostics System helps in detecting system failures and indicates faults in the vehicle system. The company claims a fuel economy of 68kmpl.
What hardware does the Hero Super Splendor Xtec use?
Similar to the standard version, the Super Splendor Xtec is built around a diamond frame. The suspension hardware comprises telescopic forks at the front and five-step-adjustable twin springs at the rear. The braking system on the base version includes 130mm drum brakes on both wheels, while the premium version gets a 240mm disc at the front. The 18-inch alloy wheels are shod in 80/100-section front and 90/90-section rear tubeless tyres.
