Hero MotoCorp has updated its Indian portfolio with the launch of the 2023 Xpulse 200 4V range. The latest iteration of this budget-friendly adventure tourer gets several updates over its predecessor. Here, we list the top five highlights from the India launch of the 2023 Xpulse 200 4V.
What’s new on the 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V?
The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is now available in two variants – base and Pro. The base model carries forward the same hardware as the discontinued model. The Pro variant, on the other hand, is essentially the Xpulse 200 4V Rally that was previously offered in the Indian market in limited numbers. Thus, this version gets premium hardware such as a fully adjustable front and rear suspension with longer travel, a taller seat height, increased ground clearance, and a handlebar riser. It also gets an extended gear lever and a longer side stand.
Notably, both variants get an updated headlight that now includes a Class-D LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs that is claimed to deliver an increased light intensity for better illumination. Further, the 2023 model range gets a new 60mm taller Rally-style windshield to offer improved windblast protection. An updated switchgear, closed-loop type handguards, and an updated luggage plate are also part of the package. Then, Hero MotoCorp has updated the rider foot peg position, and it is now 35mm lower and 8mm rear set. This is claimed to offer greater control during standing riding stance with a limited load on the riders’ wrists. It also gives an increased leg holding area for easy manoeuvrability.
What are the mechanical specifications of the 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V?
The mechanical specifications retain the 200cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine. This motor is now OBD-2 and E20 fuel compliant. The OBD-II device monitors the performance of the catalytic converter and sends notifications about any faults in the system via a malfunction indicator light (MIL). Then, it can run on an ethanol-blended gasoline mixture of up to 20 per cent. Meanwhile, the numbers remain unchanged, and this engine continues to deliver a maximum output of 18.8bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm.
What new features does the 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V get?
The feature list has been tweaked, and the 2023 range benefits from a new headlight that is claimed to deliver 230 per cent improved light intensity than its predecessor. Then, the company has also added three ABS modes to this adventurer tourer – Road, Off-road, and Rally. These alter the level of ABS intervention. Notably, the company has retained the single-channel ABS setup on this product. Other features carried forward from the previous version include a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster that packs turn-by-turn navigation.
What colours are available for the 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V?
The base variant is available in three dual-tone colour schemes – Matte Nexus Blue, Techno Blue, and Black Sports Red. The Pro version, in comparison, is available in a single paint option. This version benefits from Rally Edition graphics to distinguish it from the standard model.
