Hero MotoCorp launched the updated Xpulse 200 4V recently and the baby off-roader has brought in a few welcome changes. In this story, we’ve listed everything that’s new on the 2023 Hero Xpuslse 200 4V.
Updated Bodywork
While the overall styling of the Xpulse 200 4V has remained largely unchanged, it now features a new LED headlight. Hero says that this unit is a Class-D LED headlight with a 230 per cent improvement in illumination. It’s topped by a 60mm taller Rally-style windshield in a bid to offer better wind protection over the previous unit.
For added protection and practicality, the Xpulse 200 4V now comes with closed-loop handlebar guards as well as a new luggage plate at the rear.
Tweaked Stance
Considering the previous model’s setup, when ridden standing on the footpegs, Hero has lowered the rider footpegs by 35mm and pushed it towards the rear by 8mm. This change has directly reciprocated in the stance as you now get more surface to grip the bike by your legs and reduce the load on the wrists.
Greener Motor
Though the 2023 Xpulse 200 4V’s motor is the same as before – 200cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine design churning out 18.8bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm – it now comes with an OBD2 sensor. The onboard diagnostics helps the bike monitor real-time emissions instead of relying solely on the lab-tested emission data as before. Apart from that, the bike can now only run on a 20 per cent ethanol blend fuel. Then, it continues to be linked to a five-speed gearbox.
More Features
Apart from the updated headlight, the 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V also gets three new ABS modes: Road, Off-road and Rally. All three ABS settings differ in terms of intervention when braking hard. While the Road mode keeps the system on, the Off-road mode reduces the anti-lock braking effect by a bit, whereas the Rally mode turns it completely off. Hero recommends that the latter should only be used by experienced riders.
Meanwhile, the digital dash with smartphone connectivity and features like turn-by-turn navigation along with other readouts has been retained.
Asking Price
The bike is now available in two trims: Standard and Pro. The difference between both models is hardware as the Pro gets fully adjustable suspension at the front and rear, a taller seat, handlebar risers, and more ground clearance.
Hero has priced the Standard model at Rs. 1,43,516, while the Pro trim will set you back by Rs. 1,50,891 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
