Honda recently launched the updated Activa 125 in India. The 2023 iteration of the scooter gets subtle updates on the feature front and for OBD2 compliance. Moreover, Honda also launched the H-Smart variant of the scooter which gets additional safety and convenience-oriented features. In terms of pricing, the H-Smart is the costliest trim of the Activa 125 with a price tag of Rs 88,093. Now, although the Activa brand is known for its reliability, its similarly-priced alternatives are also worth considering. Let’s see which they are.
TVS Ntorq 125: Rs 85,986 – 1,05,991
The TVS Ntorq 125 is a more youthful and sporty alternative to the Honda Activa 125. It boasts an aggressive design, comes equipped with segment-leading features, and offers great engine performance. Powering the scooter is a 124.8cc motor that churns out 9.25bhp and 10.5Nm. Also, it comes in a host of variants like Race Edition, Super Squad, and XT which differ in terms of visuals and features.
Yamaha Ray ZR 125: Rs 82,730 – 93,530
The Yamaha Ray ZR is another 125cc sporty and funky scooter, mainly in terms of aesthetics. While the standard trim looks eye-catchy, the Street Rally trim is even more radical with fancier colour schemes and knuckle guards. Furthermore, the 125cc engine of the scooter is pretty refined and is backed by hybrid technology. It produces 8.4bhp and 10.3Nm of peak torque.
Ola S1 Air: Rs 85,000 – 1.10 lakh
The environmentalists have the option of choosing the S1 Air, Ola Electric’s most affordable e-scooter. It flaunts an elegant and contemporary design which is complemented by a bunch of modern features like a TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, riding modes, reverse mode, and more. Interestingly, Ola offers the S1 Air with three battery options including 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh.
Hero Super Splendor Xtec: Rs 83,368 – 87,268
If you’re more of a motorcyclist, this price range includes the Hero Super Splendor Xtec. This 125cc commuter offering is known for its frugal engine and affordable ownership experience. Although it falls on the affordable side of the spectrum, there’s no dearth of modern features. The package includes an LED headlight with LED DRL, a USB charging port, an idle start-stop system, a combined braking system, and a side-stand engine cut-off function.
