- Priced at Rs. 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom)
- BS6 OBD2A compliant now
- Remains identical to the 2022 model
Honda has launched the 2023 iteration of its naked street bike, the CB300R, in India. Interestingly, the motorcycle is Rs. 37,000 cheaper than the previous model and carries an ex-showroom (Delhi) price tag of Rs. 2.40 lakh now. The company hasn’t revealed the reason for this massive price cut but we believe it has been done to increase dealership footfalls and to fetch more sales. The CB300R is on sale only at Honda’s premium BigWing dealerships in India.
The motorcycle has received subtle internal changes in the engine and is now compliant with the latest BS6 OBD2A emissions norms. Apart from that, it remains unchanged in all areas. It continues to be powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 30.7bhp and 27.5Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a diamond-type chassis, the CB300R rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 41mm USD forks and a monoshock. The stopping power comes from a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
The 2023 CB300R retains Honda’s signature Neo Sports Café design which is inspired by the bigger CB1000R litre-class offering. Honda has introduced it in two colour options – Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Massive Grey Metallic. On the feature front, it’s just about average for this class. The list incorporates a full-LED lighting system, LCD console, assist and slipper clutch, emergency stop signal, and a hazard light switch.
The 2023 Honda CB300R continues to go up against the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R, TVS Apache RTR 310, and the Keeway K300 N.
