Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced the launch of the OBD2-compliant 2023 Dio in our market. The latest iteration of this 110cc scooter gets several updates over its predecessor, and here we list the top five highlights of this product from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
What new features does the 2023 Honda Dio get?
Similar to the Activa 6G, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has added the Smart Key feature to the 2023 Dio. This feature, however, is only available in the top-spec model. Meanwhile, the lower variants retain key operations. The Smart variant comes with a Lock Mod which facilitates a five-in-one function (lock handle, ignition OFF, fuel lid open, seat open, and ignition ON) without a physical key. The Smart Key comes equipped with mapped smart ECU, which acts as a security device by electronically matching (ID) between the ECU and the key fob.
Then, the Deluxe and Smart variants benefit from a fully-digital instrument cluster that brings additional information to the scooter. This includes three real-time informatics like distance to empty, average fuel efficiency, and real-time fuel efficiency. Other information available includes total trip distance, clock, and service due indicator. The safety net comprises a combined braking system and a side-stand indicator with an engine inhibitor.
What are the specifications of the 2023 Honda Dio?
The mechanical specifications retain the 109.51cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 7.65bhp at 8,000rpm and 9Nm of peak torque at 4,750rpm. However, this scooter now benefits from the necessary hardware to comply with the newest emission requirements. Further, this motor is now E20 fuel-compliant.
Does the 2023 Honda Dio get any styling revisions?
The design of the 2023 Honda Dio remains unaltered, and the scooter retains a modern design that comprises sharp body panels, an apron-mounted headlight, and a split-style pillion grabrail. However, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has added new alloy wheels to the top variants of this product. The scooter further benefits from Dio logos and new graphics. - Standard: Sports Red, Jazzy Blue Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic
- Deluxe: Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, and Matte Sangria Red Metallic

Other features include an external fuel lid, a front glove box, an 18-litre under-seat storage, an engine start/stop switch, and a high-beam passing flasher button integrated into the high/low beam switch.
What hardware does the 2023 Honda Dio use?
Apart from the addition of new alloy wheels on the higher variants, the hardware remains unaltered. Thus, the scooter continues to use telescopic front forks and a three-step-adjustable rear suspension to handle the shock absorption tasks. The braking setup across the range includes 130cc drum brakes on both ends. The scooter rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels that are shod in tubeless tyres. Other key dimensions include a 5.3-litre fuel tank, 160mm of ground clearance, and 105kg of kerb weight.
What are the prices of the 2023 Honda Dio?
The 2023 Honda Dio is available in three variants. While the base model is priced at Rs. 70,211, the Deluxe and Smart variants are available at Rs. 74,212 and Rs. 77,712, respectively. All variants are available with the special 10-year warranty package (three years standard + seven years optional extended).
