- Features switchable traction control
- Retains the engine and other mechanicals
- Gets a notable price hike over the 2022 model
Kawasaki India has launched the updated Ninja 650 in India at Rs 7,12,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Japanese middleweight has received a few substantial updates for its latest iteration. Here are the full details.
The 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650 retains the design and styling from the previous year's model. It features a sharp fascia that houses a split LED headlight topped by a transparent windscreen and flanked by bulb indicators. The latter is integrated into the side fairing of the bike.
The most significant feature update of the 2023 Ninja 650 is the Kawasaki Traction Control system. It should make riding the bike convenient for newer riders by providing an added safety net alongside ABS. The new KRTC is a two-level system and can also be completely turned off.
Kawasaki has plonked in the same 649cc parallel twin motor with the output rated at 67bhp and 64Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox which too remains unaltered. Apart from the LED illumination and traction control, the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650 also features a 4.3-inch TFT with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology application.
On the hardware front, the trellis frame mounted on the telescopic front forks and linked rear shock has also been carried over. The Ninja 650’s braking hardware consists of dual 300mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear Dunlop tyres.
Kawasaki India offers the 2023 Ninja 650 in one colour – Lime Green. And compared to the previous asking price of Rs 6.95 lakh, the updated model demands a premium of Rs 17,000.
