- Teaser released on social media handles
- Likely to launch W800
- Launch date not available yet
Kawasaki India has released a teaser for a new motorcycle on its social media handles. While the teaser does not reveal any details, it shows a 'W', which suggests that the company could launch the 2023 W800 in the Indian market. The 2023 iteration of this retro-classic is already available in select international markets and is sold in Metallic Slate Blue with Metallic Diablo Black paint.
The styling remains similar to the 2020 version which is already available for sale in India. Thus, the 2023 Kawasaki W800 retains a round headlight at the front, a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat, and a twin-pod instrument cluster with semi-digital layout.
The mechanical specifications should retain the BS6-compliant, 773cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 51bhp at 6,500rpm and 62.9Nm of peak torque at 4,800rpm. This motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the hardware comprises a double-cradle frame, telescopic front forks, twin rear springs, and single disc brakes on both wheels.
The W800 will rival the likes of Triumph Bonneville T100 in the Indian market. The 2023 iteration could arrive at a marginally higher price than the existing model’s Rs 7.33 lakh ex-showroom tag.
