- Priced at Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Remains unchanged mechanically
Kawasaki has updated its middle-weight streetfighter, the Z900, for 2023 in India. And just like the new Ninja ZX-10R, the Z900 too has been exempted from a price increment and continues to be sold at Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom). As a part of the model year update, Kawasaki has introduced two new colour options for the bike.
Customers can now choose from Metallic Phantom Silver with Metallic Carbon Gray and Ebony with Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray. Both bikes don an understated-looking combination of black, grey and silver shades but the green/red accents add a bit of jazz to the styling. The entire bodywork, meanwhile, remains unaltered and the bike continues to sport Kawasaki’s signature ‘Sugomi’ design.
Powering the Z900 is a 948cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 123.6bhp at 9,500rpm and 98.6Nm of peak torque at 7,700rpm. The six-speed gearbox is accompanied by an assist and slipper clutch. The list of integrated electronic aids includes three-level traction control, three riding modes, a Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display, and full-LED lighting. The 17-inch wheels of the Z900 ride on Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres with USD forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by dual discs at the front and a single rotor at the rear.
In India, the Kawasaki Z900 goes up against the Triumph Street Triple RS, DucatiMonster, and Honda CB650R.
