KTM finally launched the 390 Adventure in India with fully adjustable suspension and spoke wheels. It’s the top-spec model of the Austrian ADV that you can now buy in India and comes at an asking price of Rs. 3,60,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, there are quite a few other options that you can choose from for a similar asking price.
BMW G310GS
The BMW G310GS is one of the direct rivals of the KTM 390 Adventure. The Bavarian ADV costs Rs. 3,25,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is powered by a 313cc single-cylinder motor that dishes out 33.52bhp and 28Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and nestled in a trellis frame. The G310GS boasts a tall and upright stance along with its muscular bodywork. Its fascia comprises a sharp LED headlight topped by a transparent windscreen with a secondary fender below it. Overall, the baby GS looks quite rugged and makes for a good companion for off-roading as well as long-distance touring.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is priced at Rs. 3,40,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it has been around for a long time now. It features a split LED headlight, and supersport styling along with recently revamped graphics. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is well known for its refined motor and overall performance. It gets a 296cc parallel-twin motor that makes 38.88bhp and 26.1Nm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The Ninja 300 is quite basic on the feature front as it gets a halogen headlight, LED taillight, and a semi-digital instrument console. It rides on telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup.
The Zontes 350T is one of the recent entrants in the Indian market. It retails at Rs. 3,47,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and draws power from a 348cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 38.2bhp and 32.8Nm. The Zontes 350T has quite some road presence, courtesy of its bulky design and butch bodywork. The 350T comes with LED illumination all over, an electronically adjustable windscreen, crash guards, and a rear luggage rack as well. Zontes has also loaded its ADV with keyless control for the ignition and fuel tank, an electronically operated windscreen, TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), and a fully digital LCD.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the Chennai-based brand’s latest offering. It’s the third middleweight bike from Royal Enfield and also the second cruiser. With the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield has upped the ante in terms of quality and finishing. Right from the welds to the switchgear as well as the overall bodywork, everything about the Meteor 650 is premium. It draws power from the same 648cc parallel-twin motor as the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650. The output is rated at 48bhp and 52Nm and the engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It features LED illumination and USD front forks, which are a first for Royal Enfield bikes.
Lastly, we also have the QJ Motor SRK 400. It costs Rs. 3,59,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and looks quite sporty and youthful. From LED illumination to TFT instrumentation and dual-channel ABS, the SRK 400 gets all the needed features. It’s equipped with a 400cc parallel-twin motor that makes 40bhp and 37Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. QJ Motor has suspended the SRK 400 on USD front forks and a preload adjustable rear shock while the braking hardware comprises dual 260mm front discs and a single 240mm rear unit mounted to alloy wheels.
