- Deliveries commence in India
- Priced at Rs. 2.80 lakh (introductory)
- Gets fewer features than the standard model
KTM India has commenced the deliveries of the most affordable 390 Adventure-series motorcycle, the 390 Adventure X in our market. The company launched this budget-friendly, lower-spec version of its sub-500cc adventure tourer in the Indian market in April this year at an introductory price tag of Rs. 2.80 lakh, making it nearly Rs. 58,000 cheaper than the standard model.
Now, this motorcycle variant has started to arrive at dealerships, and its deliveries have commenced in our market. The 390 Adventure series is available in two variants – Standard and X – and four colours. The lower-spec model is listed in two colours – Galactic Blue and Dark Galvano Black. The paint themes and graphics on the X variant are noticeably different from the standard version.
As mentioned previously, the X variant gets fewer features than the standard model, and this budget-friendly version uses an LCD screen instead of the Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display. Other features on the motorcycle comprise full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS with an off-road mode, a slipper clutch, and a 12V USB socket. Notably, this version misses the traction control system, riding modes, cornering ABS, and a quick-shifter.
The mechanical specifications are identical on both variants, and they both retain the 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
This affordable version of the KTM 390 Adventure range rivals the likes of the BMW G 310 GS in the Indian market. Meanwhile, the company competes in the quarter-litre segment with the 250 Adventure that rivals the Suzuki V-Strom SX, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and Benelli TRK 251 in our market.
