- KTM 390 Adventure X priced at Rs. 2.80 lakh
- New variant misses out on a few features
- Both variants are listed in two colours
KTM India has announced the launch of the 2023 390 Adventure X with a considerably lower ex-showroom price tag than the standard model. However, the lower price tag brings fewer features to this variant of the KTM 390 Adventure, and here we list the top five highlights from the Indian launch of this sub-500cc adventure-tourer segment motorcycle.
What features does the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X pack?
As mentioned above, the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X packs fewer features than the standard model. Thus, unlike the premium version, this budget-friendly alternative uses an LCD screen that misses out on Bluetooth connectivity. Further, the electronic rider aids on the 390 Adventure X variant are limited to dual-channel ABS with off-road mode. For reference, the standard model of the 390 Adventure range further benefits from a Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display that works with KTM My Ride smartphone application, a traction control system, riding modes, cornering ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, and a quick-shifter. Notably, both variants come equipped with full-LED lighting, a slipper clutch, and a 12V USB socket.
Is the styling of the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X similar to the standard model?
While the feature list on the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X is relatively lower than the standard variant, the styling cues are identical on both versions. Thus, this new variant of the 390 Adventure range packs a split-style headlight with twin LED DRLs, a short windscreen, a 14.5-litre fuel tank, split seats, a side-slung exhaust and 19-inch front/17-inch rear alloy wheels that are shod in tubeless tyres. The standard version of the motorcycle is available in two paint options – Atlantic Blue and Dark Galvano Black. The 390 Adventure X is listed in two colour themes as well – Galactic Blue and Dark Galvano Black.
What are the mechanical specifications of the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X?
The mechanical specifications, too, are identical on both variants, and the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure range retains the 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with a dual overhead camshaft. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 42.9bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
What hardware does the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure X use?
Both variants of the KTM 390 Adventure pack identical hardware. Thus, these motorcycles are built around a steel trellis frame with a bolted sub-frame, and use 43mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to handle the suspension duties. Notably, the international markets benefit from adjustable front forks. The braking setup on both versions includes a 320mm single disc with a radially-mounted calliper at the front and a 230mm single disc with a floating calliper at the back. Other key dimensions on the 390 Adventure range comprise 200mm of ground clearance, a seat height of 855mm, and 177kg of kerb weight.
What is the price of the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure range?
This new variant of the KTM 390 Adventure range has been priced at Rs. 2.80 lakh, making it Rs. 57,000 cheaper than the standard version that is available at Rs. 3.37 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The 390 Adventure rivals the likes of the BMW G 310 GS in the Indian market. KTM India also offers an even more affordable adventurer tourer motorcycle in India, the 250 Adventure. This quarter-litre variant of the KTM’s adventurer series motorcycles competes against the likes of the Suzuki V-Strom SX, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and the Benelli TRK 251 in our market.
