- Spotted testing off-shores
- Gets new wheels and brake discs
- Rear subframe seems to be inspired by the 790/890 Duke
After its recent sighting in India, the 2023 KTM 390 Duke has now been spotted testing again but overseas. The new test mule reveals quite some design and mechanical details of the upcoming model.
First off, the test mule features some design tweaks when compared to the current bike. The headlight cowl appears sharper and the raked as well, reminiscent of the larger Duke(s). The tank shrouds also seem to be longer and exceed the fork's area.
That said, the rear subframe is a completely new unit, similar to the one we see on the 790/890 Duke. Meanwhile, the wheels, brake discs, WP suspension, and the swingarm will be borrowed from the freshly launched 2022 KTM RC 390.
Just like its supersport sibling, the upcoming 390 Duke too could house the same 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor. In the RC 390, it's tuned to dish out 42.9Bhp and 37Nm, and we expect the Duke to make the same output figures, more or less.
Considering KTM bumped up the RC 390's price by around Rs 36,000 (at Rs 3.14 lakh), you can expect the 2023 KTM 390 Duke to get a similar premium.
