- Gets updated styling
- Could borrow hardware from the new RC series
- Could benefit from a tweaked motor
KTM is set to revamp its streetfighter line for 2023 and the 390 Duke test mule has been spotted again. The bike was heavily camouflaged but we’ve figured out quite a few bits that are likely to be updated on the new model.
The first and most evident update that KTM could employ is the Super Duke-inspired styling. As seen in these spy shots, the 390 Duke is equipped with a new LED headlight, sharper and larger tank shrouds, and tweaked side panels as well. It also seems to have received mechanical updates since the swingarm looks much beefier than the current unit. The 2023 KTM 390 Duke will ride on front USD forks and an offset rear monoshock.
Since the new RC 390 has been updated with lighter wheels and a better braking setup, we expect the same to trickle down on the upcoming Duke. Even the chassis seems reworked and so does the rear subframe. The engine casing on the latest test mule seems different so it won’t be a surprise if KTM alters the engine performance as well. That said, we also expect smartphone connectivity on the new model.
With the aforementioned list of updates and probably some more, KTM is likely to price the 2023 Duke 390 considerably higher than the current generation model. For reference, the new RC costs about Rs 36,000 more than its predecessor.
