Triumph Motorcycles India has announced that the 2023 Street Triple range will be launched in our market in March 2023. The updated range will rival the likes of the Ducati Monster, Streetfighter V2, Kawasaki Z900, and BMW F900R. The pre-bookings for this motorcycle have commenced. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound 2023 Triumph Street Triple range.
Updated Design and Colours
Internationally, Triumph Motorcycles offers the 2023 Street Triple 765 range in three variants – R, RS, and Moto2 Edition. The Indian market will get the R and the RS variants, and there is no announcement about the Indian launch of the Moto2 Edition. For 2023, the Street Triple range gets several styling and mechanical updates. The cosmetic updates on the 2023 model comprise a sharper design for the twin-pod LED headlight that is inspired by the newest Speed Triple 1200 RS. It also gets an aggressive design for the bodywork, a 15-litre fuel tank, a gullwing swingarm, and radiator cowls. The RS variant further benefits from a body-coloured belly pan and pillion seat cowl with interchangeable pillion seat and lower chain guard.
The updated design is accompanied by new graphics and bold colours. Internationally, the R variant gets two colour options – Silver Ice and Crystal White. On the other hand, the RS version has been listed in three paint choices – Silver Ice, Carnival Red, and Cosmic Yellow. The details about the India-bound model's colour options are not available. However, we expect to see the complete colour palette in our market.
More Powerful Engine
The mechanical specifications have received upgrades too, and the Street Triple 765 range now makes more power. The motorcycle range retains the same 765cc, inline-three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as its predecessor. However, the power output has increased and this motor is now tuned to deliver 118.4bhp at 11,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm on the Street Triple 765 R. Meanwhile, the performance-spec RS version draws 128.2bhp at 12,000rpm and 80Nm at 9,500rpm from the same engine.
Improved Rider Aids
The feature list across the 2023 Street Triple range includes full-LED lighting, cornering ABS, a lean-sensitive traction control system, a linked braking system, wheelie control, and a bidirectional quickshifter. The RS version benefits from a lap timer, cruise control system, five-inch TFT display, Bluetooth module, and an additional ride mode (Road, Rain, Sport, Track, and Rider). The base model, in comparison, features four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport, and Rider) and an LCD with a TFT display. The RS variant also benefits from higher-spec braking and suspension components.
Hardware
The RS variant of the 2023 Street Triple range gets Showa –sourced 41mm USD Big Piston Forks (BPF) and an Ohlins STX40 piggyback reservoir monoshock to handle the suspension tasks. Meanwhile, the braking hardware on the RS version comprises twin 310mm floating discs with Brembo Stylema four-piston radial monobloc calipers at the front and 220mm rear disc. In comparison, the R model gets Showa 41mm Separate Function Forks at the front and a Showa piggyback reservoir monoshock at the back. The braking setup on the R variant includes twin 310mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial caliper and a 220mm rear disc.
Expected Price and Rivals in India
All the updates mentioned above would come with a price increase and the 2023 Street Triple R should arrive in the Rs 9.5-10 lakh range. The more premium Street Triple RS could retail in the Rs 11.50-12 lakh price bracket. The prices would be announced at the launch in March 2023. Meanwhile, the deliveries are expected to commence in April 2023. Once launched, the updated 2023 Triumph Street Triple range will rival the likes of the Ducati Monster, Ducati Streetfighter V2, BMW F900R, and Kawasaki Z900 in the Indian market.
