TVS Motor Company recently launched its 125cc commuter motorcycle, the Raider in a new, more affordable variant in India. So, in this article, we tell you everything that you need to know about this new version in four key points.
2023 TVS Raider Styling
The new TVS Raider variant is no different to the other versions when it comes to styling. It continues with a modern and youthful design that is in tune with TVSs other models. The robot-like LED headlamp design, and a brawny fuel tank are all similar. However, unlike the other options, the Single-seat variant is only offered in String Red. What’s even more different though, is the new seat. While the other variants get a split-seat setup that adds sportiness to the Raider, the new version comes with a single-piece seat as standard.
2023 TVS Raider Engine
Powering the entire TVS Raider 125 range is a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor with three valves. Mated to a five-speed gearbox, this engine offers 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6,000rpm. Having tested the motorcycle out, we know that it boasts of a smooth and vibe-free nature.
2023 TVS Raider Hardware
Suspension duties on the TVS Raider are handled by telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in 80/100-section front and 100/90-section rear tubeless tyres.
2023 TVS Raider Features
The Split-seat variant of the TVS Raider is not much different in features than the other options. It
comes with a full-LED headlamp and LED DRLs, and LED tail light and CBS as standard. Now, unlike the SmartXonnect version which comes with Bluetooth connectivity, the Split Seat variant only gets a reverse LCD cluster with basic information like speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel-level indicator, tachometer, gear position indicator. It also gets a USB charging port and a storage unit under the seat as standard fitment.
2023 TVS Raider Pricing
TVS has priced the Raider single-seat variant at Rs 93,719, ex-showroom making it the most affordable version. It costs a thousand rupees lesser than the Split-seat version and around Rs 7,000 lesser than the top-spec SmartXonnect variant.
