Yamaha Motor India has announced the launch of the 2023 Aerox in our market. This latest iteration of the company’s most premium scooter on our shores gets several updates over its predecessor. Here we list the top five highlights from the Indian launch of the 2023 Yamaha Aerox.
What colours are available on the 2023 Yamaha Aerox?
The 2023 Yamaha Aerox is available in four colours in the Indian market. It includes Metallic Black, Racing Blue, Grey Vermillion, and the newly added Metallic Silver. All colour options feature a contrasting shade for the alloy wheels. The Metallic Black colour comes with black-coloured alloy wheels while the Racing Blue gets blue-coloured units. The Grey Vermillion and Metallic Silver paint options get orange and golden-coloured alloy wheels, respectively. Notably, all colour options feature similar graphics.
What are the mechanical specifications of the 2023 Yamaha Aerox?
The latest iteration of the Aerox 155 is E20 fuel-compliant and equipped with an onboard diagnostics (OBD-II) system that displays any errors in the vehicle system. Meanwhile, the scooter continues to use a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. Linked to a CVT transmission, this motor delivers a maximum output of 14.8bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 6,500rpm.
Is the feature list any different on the 2023 Yamaha Aerox?
The biggest upgrade on the 2023 Aerox is the addition of a Traction Control System (TCS). It joins the single-channel ABS tech and side-stand engine cut-off function in the safety department of this scooter. Additionally, the Aerox 155 now gets a hazard light system as a standard feature. Meanwhile, the features retained from the previous version include a twin-pod LED headlight with LED DRLs, an LED taillight, bulb-type turn indicators, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, an automatic start/stop system, and a power socket in the front glovebox. Other features on this scooter include 24.5-litre under-seat storage, a multi-function key switch, and an external fuel lid.
What hardware does the 2023 Yamaha Aerox use?
The hardware remains unaltered, and the 2023 Aerox continues to use telescopic front forks, twin rear springs, a 230mm front disc, a 130mm drum brake at the rear, and 14-inch alloy wheels on both ends. These wheels are wrapped in 110/80-section front and 140/70-section rear tubeless tyres. Other key dimensions on this scooter comprise 790mm of seat height, 145mm of ground clearance, 5.5 litres of fuel tank capacity, and a kerb weight of 126kg.
What are the prices of the 2023 Yamaha Aerox?
The 2023 Yamaha Aerox is available in a single variant and four colours as mentioned before. Notably, the colour options do not alter the prices of the maxi-scooter, and it is priced at Rs. 1,42,800. This scooter rivals the likes of the Aprilia SXR 160 in the Indian market.
