- Gets retro styling
- Powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder engine
- Will not be launched in India
Yamaha has updated the GT150 Fazer for 2023 and launched the motorcycle in the Chinese market. The motorcycle is positioned as an entry-level commuter that would be positioned under the premium XSR155.
What’s interesting about the motorcycle is its retro styling complete with a round headlamp and turn indicators, ribbed seat, fork gaiters and dual-sport tyres. Just like the FZ sold in India, the GT150 Fazer rides on telescopic forks, and twin rear shocks. While the Fazer gets petal-type discs, it misses out on ABS. When it comes to its powertrain, the GT150 Fazer uses a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 12bhp and 11.7Nm. The FZS sold in India offers similar power but slightly more torque.
That said, the GT150 Fazer sports an LED headlamp and fully-digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a 12V socket fitted as standard. Now, the Yamaha GT150 Fazer will not be launched in India as the manufacturer already has a similar motorcycle in the form of the FZ-X here. Speaking of which, the FZ-X is expected to get an update soon.
