Yamaha Motor India has launched the 2023 MT-15 V2 in our market and the latest iteration of this roadster motorcycle is available in two variants. This KTM 125 Duke, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and Apache RTR 200 4V rival is priced from Rs. 1,64,900 onwards in the Indian market. Styling and Colours available on the 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2
The overall styling remains unaltered and the latest iteration of this roadster-segment motorcycle retains a projector-style headlight with twin DRLs at the front, a muscular fuel tank, a step-up seat, an engine cowl, a side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch wheels on both ends. Yamaha Motor India has also listed several optional accessories for this motorcycle. This list includes a tank pad, skid plate, USB charger, and adjustable levers. Meanwhile, the colour palette has been updated with the addition of two options. The company has added the Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black colours that join the existing palette that comprised Cyan Storm, Ice Fluo-vermillion, Racing Blue, and Metallic Black DLX.
Mechanical specifications of the 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2
The 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2 retains the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system that also powers the YZF-R15 series. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this engine delivers a maximum output of 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. While the numbers are similar to the previous version, the 2023 model gets additional hardware to comply with the OBD2 norms.
2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2 features
The 2023 MT-15 V2 is available in two variants – Standard and Y-connect. The feature list across the range includes a projector-style LED headlight with LED DRLs, an LED taillight, and a fully-digital instrument cluster. The Y-connect version benefits from Bluetooth connectivity that brings additional features such as call alert, SMS and e-mail alert, phone battery level, last parked location, and malfunction notification. Further, all colour options, except the Metallic Black and Dark Matte Blue paint themes, get LED turn indicators. Meanwhile, the Metallic Black and Dark Matte Blue paint themes feature bulb-type turn indicators.
Suspension and Braking Hardware on 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2
The suspension setup on the 2023 Yamaha MT-15 V2 comprises upside-down telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The anchoring tasks are handled by single discs on both wheels while the safety net comprises a dual-channel ABS, a traction control system, and a side-stand engine cut-off function. Further, the gearbox retains the assist and slipper clutch mechanism.
