- Yamaha introduces new R15 V4 MotoGP edition
- Available in five colours with varying prices
To celebrate its racing team’s arrival in India for the recently concluded MotoGP Bharat, India Yamaha Motor recently launched the new MotoGP edition of its popular R15 V4. Now, with the introduction of this new trim, the R15 is available in a total of five colour options in India.
The most expensive of them is the new MotoGP edition which costs Rs. 1,97,200. It boasts an all-black bodywork with bold Monster Energy graphics on its fairing, front fascia, and tail. Next up is the Metallic Grey colour which is essentially the M variant and costs Rs. 1,95,700. It is dressed up in a dual-tone combination of black and grey bodywork with blue alloy wheels. Both these models come equipped with a quick shifter and traction control as standard.
The R15 is also available in Racing Blue trim which costs Rs. 1,86,700. It sports body panels adorned in two different shades of blue accompanied by blue wheels. Further, Rs. 4,000 cheaper than the Racing Blue is Dark Knight variant which is finished in grey with subtle golden accents and golden wheels. The most affordable variant of the lot is Metallic Red which offers single-tone red bodywork finished with black alloy wheels. It sets you back by Rs. 1,81,700 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Yamaha R15 V4 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that features variant valve actuation functionality and produces 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. Underpinned by a Deltabox frame, it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by USD forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. As for the features, it incorporates an LCD console with two themes, a full-LED lighting system, a USB charging port, and Bluetooth connectivity.
