Yamaha has finally launched the updated Ray ZR in India alongside the Fascino 125 in India. Both scooters have been updated on the mechanical front to adhere to the updated emission norms. 2023 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid: Engine Specifications
The latest model of the Ray ZR 125 uses the same 125cc single-cylinder motor developing 8bhp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm. However, it’s now OBD-II compliant and is also compatible with E-20 fuel. The newly added OBD-II sensor helps the scooter monitor real-time emissions.
2023 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid: Styling and Colours
Similar to the 2022 mode, the updated Ray ZR 125 also gets a youthful styling. It has carried over the LED illumination, sporty styling, small windscreen at the front and handle guards as well. But along with the former mechanical changes, Yamaha has also offered new colour options for the Ray ZR. It’s now available in Matte Black and Light Grey Vermillion. Moreover, the disc and drum variants of the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid get new graphics in its existing colours – Matte Red, Metallic Black, and Cyan Blue.

Apart from LED illumination, the RayZR 125 also features smartphone connectivity. It can be accessed using the Yamaha Y-Connect application and displays a fuel consumption tracker, maintenance recommendations, last parking location, malfunction notification, revs dashboard, and rider ranking. Other nifty bits like Smart Motor Generator and the Power Assist system are also offered with the Ray ZR range. The aforementioned equipment work in tandem to offer a linear power delivery. Last but not least, you also get a side stand cut-off and a combined braking system for the rider aids.
2023 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid: Hardware
Yamaha has equipped the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid with conventional telescopic front forks and a single rear shock. Meanwhile, its braking hardware comprises 130mm drum brakes on both ends for the base model and a 190mm front disc with a 130mm rear drum for the higher-sped model. It rides on a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel wrapped in 90/90 front and 110/90 rear tyres. It gets a 5.2-litre fuel tank and a 21-litre under-seat storage.
