- Get new paint schemes
- Retain the mechanical bits
- No feature changes either
Yamaha has updated two of its most popular supersports in the international market, the YZF-R3 and the YZF-R7. Both bikes have received cosmetic updates for 2023. Here’s what’s new.
Yamaha is now offering the 2023 YZF-R3 with a new paint scheme of Phantom Purple while retaining previous colours of Yamaha Blue Midnight Black. Elsewhere, the 2023 model has retained its mechanical and features list from the 2022 model. It’s powered by the same 321cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor and has carried over the suspension and braking hardware too.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R7 now gets Intensity White as its latest colour option. It too retains the previous options of Blue and Black. Yamaha has employed no changes to the R7’s 689cc parallel-twin motor or the USD forks and monoshock setup. Even the dual front disc and rear single-disc setup with dual-channel ABS has been carried over.
In the USA, the R3 is priced at USD 5,499 (approximately Rs 4.36 lakh), and the R7 costs USD 9,199 (approximately Rs 7.29 lakh sans taxes). Currently, Yamaha India has no plans of getting either bike to India even though the engines have been updated to Euro-5 (BS6) norms.
