- Both models use the same 660cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine
- Features include LED illumination, TFT, ABS, and more
- Tuono 660 is offered in two colours and the RS 660 comes in three paint schemes
Aprilia India has launched the 2024 RS 660 and the Tuono 660 in India. The Italian middleweight offerings have come with a notable price tag in their latest iteration and here is what you need to know about them.
Firstly, Aprilia has used the same 660cc, parallel-twin cylinder motor for both, RS 660 and Tuono 660. It makes 100bhp and 67Nm for the RS while the Tuono dishes out 95bhp and 67Nm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and only the RS 660 comes with a quickshifter.
The list of features on the Aprilia duo comprises a six-axis IMU, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, cruise control, engine maps, three levels of ABS adjustability, and all LED illumination.
On the hardware front, the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 sport a perimeter frame suspended on 41mm KYB USD front forks, and a monoshock. Both ends get preload and rebound adjustability. Then, the brakes comprise a dual 320mm front and a single 220mm rear disc mounted on 17-inch wheels.
The one area where the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 differ is the design and ergonomics. The RS is a more committed and sporty offering with a forward-set rider triangle whereas the Tuono 660 is a naked bike with a slightly upright stance. The same translates to their riding as well.
The asking price for the Aprilia RS 660 is Rs. 17.74 lakh and the Tuono retails at Rs. 17.44 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The RS 660 rivals the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and the Ducati Supersport. However, both its rivals cost less than it and offer more power. Then, the Tuono 660 goes against the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS and the Ducati Streetfighter V2.
