Bajaj Auto recently launched the 2024 Chetak Urbane. It received a few updates including new features and more range than before. Now, the Chakan-based bikemaker is set to update the Chetak Premium as well. Here is what we expect it to get.
Design
Similar to the 2024 Chetak Urbane, we expect the updated Premium variant to also carry over the design. So, it could get the same round LED headlight, curvy side panels, and the retro theme that we have seen so far. Even the single-piece seat and the curved fenders are unlikely to be altered. However, Bajaj could introduce new paint schemes for the 2024 Chetak Premium.
Features
This is a section where the 2024 Premium model would receive notable updates. We expect Bajaj to equip it with a larger digital console and include features like smartphone connectivity, navigation, and more. These will be alongside the existing features like LED illumination, ride modes, reverse mode, geo-fencing, vehicle tracking, and CBS.
Hardware
The Chetak has been equipped with a monoshock at both ends and a single-disc brake setup with alloy wheels. We expect the same to be retained for the 2024 Premium as well since the setup offers decent ride quality and good braking performance too.
Battery
Apart from the features, the Bajaj Chetak Premium could benefit from a new larger battery for better range and also get a slightly tweaked motor for higher top speed. As of now, it uses a 2.9kWh battery and a 3.8kW motor. This setup gives Chetak a top speed of 63kmph and a maximum range of 107km.
Price
Bajaj currently retails the Chetak Premium at Rs. 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). The updated models could get a price hike since it will get more features and a larger battery pack as well.
