Bajaj Auto has launched a new variant of the Pulsar N160 in India, which gets updated hardware and new features. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s take a look at the top highlights of the new Pulsar N160.
Design
The new variant features styling similar to that of the other versions, which is not a bad thing as the Pulsar N160 looks quite sporty. It gets a bikini fairing with an LED projector headlamp, sharp tank extensions and a flowing tail section. Meanwhile, the front mudguard gets a floating effect, while the Pulsar N160 also comes with an engine belly cowl.
New additions
This particular variant of the Bajaj Pulsar N160 comes equipped with USD forks instead of the telescopic units on the standard model. Feature-wise, the digital console is now Bluetooth-enabled and gets turn-by-turn navigation, and call and SMS alerts. Then, it also gets multiple ABS modes such as road, rain, and off-road, which varies the ABS intervention based on the riding conditions and mode selected.
Cycle parts
As for the rest of the hardware, the motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped on 100/80-section front and 130/70-section rear tyres. The braking department is taken care of by a 280mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the back, along with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle gets a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
Specifications
Powering the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is the same 164.82cc, oil-cooled engine that pumps out 15.68bhp at 8,750rpm and 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm. It comes mated to a five-speed transmission. The motorcycle has a low kerb weight of 152kg, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 14 litres.
Competition
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 rivals the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, and the Yamaha FZ-S Fi.
