BMW Motorrad has updated its product portfolio with the addition of the 2024 S 1000 XR. The German sport tourer has been updated and here are its top highlights.
Design
Although the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR appears similar to the previous year model, it is now available in multiple new paint schemes. The bike also looks sharper and sportier than before. BMW is offering the 2024 S 1000 XR in three colours – Light White, Black Storm Metallic 2, and Gravity Blue Metallic.
Features
BMW has equipped the S 1000 XR with a truckload of features. The list includes LED illumination, riding modes Pro, hill start control Pro, ABS, and traction control. It also gets a TFT with smartphone connectivity, keyless operation, USB charging port, and an emergency call feature.
Engine
The BMW S 1000 XR gets a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine. It now makes 5bhp more than before and the total output is rated at 170bhp and 114Nm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Although this motor has been borrowed from the S 1000 RR, it makes less power since it is likely detuned for sport-touring.
Hardware
Even the suspension for the S 1000 XR is quite premium as the bike comes with electronically adjustable USD front forks and monoshock. Meanwhile, its brakes comprise dual front and a single rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 190/55 rear tyres.
Price
The asking price for the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR is set at Rs. 22,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is about Rs. 40,000 more than before.
