Hero MotoCorp recently launched the 2024 Xtreme 160R 2V in India. The bike takes on the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V but Hero has worked on adding more features while reducing the price of the bike. Here are the top five highlights.
Design
The design of the Hero Xtreme 160 2V is similar to the outgoing bike, save for the new H-shaped LED tail light. Hero has gone for a proper, dark theme with the bike. The new colour is called Stealth Black and gives the bike a more upmarket appearance. Hero has added a few red accents on the bike in certain areas to add contrast and this has been neatly executed. On the whole, the bike looks good and is by far one of the best designs by Hero MotoCorp
Engine
The bike is powered by a 163.2cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 14.79bhp and 14Nm. It is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The engine is known for its mid-range performance and even the fuel efficiency is in the ballpark of the competition.
Features
Hero has offered a decent amount of features on the bike. It gets LED lights, a digital display and a new drag race timer. These features are expected of a bike in this segment while the drag race timers are a segment first.
Chassis
The Hero Xtreme 160R employs a steel frame that is suspended by a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while braking duties are taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Price
Hero has priced the 2024 Xtreme 160R 2V at Rs 1.11 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. This is Rs 10,000 cheaper than the 2023 model, despite the addition of new features.
