- Teaser video shows a new paint scheme
- Dual-channel ABS to be included
- Drag race timer and panic brake alert to be incorporated
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch the 2024 iteration of its premium commuter motorcycle, the Xtreme 160R 4V. The bike has been teased online revealing a few details about the updates it will get and the official launch might take place soon.
The teaser video shows the bike in a new colour scheme of bronze and black along with refreshed graphics. The motorcycle will also come equipped with a dual-channel ABS, unlike the existing model which gets a single-channel unit. Plus, Hero has tweaked the seat of the bike for an enhanced pillion comfort. A close look reveals that it gets a single-piece seat as opposed to the split seat of the ongoing model.
Two of the more interesting features that Hero has included are a drag race timer and a panic brake alert. The former allows you to track time of zero to 60kmph and zero to 402-meter sprints. While this might be a superfluous addition, the inclusion of a panic brake alert system should be useful in day-to-day riding and enhance the safety quotient.
In terms of engine and cycle parts, the Xtreme 160R 4V is likely to remain unchanged. Powering the bike is a 163.2cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that produces 16.6bhp and 14.6Nm of peak torque while being mated to a five-speed gearbox. It rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of by a single disc at both ends.
The prices of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V start from Rs. 1.27 lakh and go up to Rs. 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 2024 iteration might demand a small premium over these prices.
