- New Africa Twin Adventure Sports gets a 19-inch front wheel
- DCT gearbox has been heavily reworked
- Will be assembled in India Honda has unveiled the 2024 version of the famous Africa Twin range. The brand has given the Adventure and the Adventure Sports some significant upgrades.
The upgrades have come in the form of improved aesthetics, engine changes, and some changes to some of the cycle parts. The Africa Twin has received minor changes to the front fairing, enhancing the overall visual appeal. This variant is now available in both suspension options – manual suspension adjustment and also electronically. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports is now available with a 19-inch front wheel and shorter suspension travel on both sides. This has been done as the Japanese brand wants to position Adventure Sports as a road-oriented model.
Aesthetically, this tourer has received minor design changes to the upper fairing and side panels. Along with the new five-position adjustable screen and some other new changes, long-distance riding is expected to get much better. There’s also the Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment feature, which now comes as standard. This system allows the rider to choose from four settings – hard, soft, off-road, and mid for a better riding experience.
A significant change the bike’s 1,084cc parallel-twin engine gets is that the peak torque has now been increased to 112Nm and comes in much earlier. This has been achieved by tweaking the airbox diameter, valves, and fuel injectors. The ECU settings have been optimised, too. The DCT gearbox has also been improved to provide a better ride experience.
The new Africa Twin is available in Matt Ballistic Black Metallic and Grand Prix Red, whereas the Adventure Sports is available in Pearl Glare White and the famous Tricolour option. Both these variants are likely to be launched in India sometime next year.
