-Gets assist and slipper clutch
-Powered by a 184.4cc engine that makes 17bhp
-Goes up against the Hero Xpulse 200
The Honda CB200X has been updated with an assist and slipper clutch. This system reduces the effort required to operate the clutch lever and that helps while riding in congested city traffic. The slipper function, on the other hand, prevents wheel lock while downshifting aggressively.
The CB200X is based on the Honda Hornet 2.0 and is essentially the ADV version of the bike. Except there is no difference in the suspension travel at either end. Honda has tweaked the riding position though, mainly by using handlebar risers for an upright posture. The other difference is in the form of its design. It gets new fairing and a tall windscreen, in typical adventure bike fashion. It also gets knuckle guards with integrated turn indicators for good measure.
Powering the bike is a 184.4cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 17bhp at 8,500rpm and 15.9Nm at 6,000rpm. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The chassis of the CB200X consists of a steel diamond frame with a USD fork at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a disc brake at both ends.
When it comes to features, the CB200X is found lacking. It gets all-LED lights, dual channel ABS and a rather simple negative LCD display. There is no Bluetooth connectivity or navigation which is turning out to be the norm on most two-wheelers in and around the CB200X’s price range.
Speaking of, the Honda CB200X is priced at Rs 1.46 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. That pits it directly against the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, which has better off-road ability. The CB200X is available in three colours- Sports Red, Pearl Nightstar Black and Decent Blue Metallic.
