Honda has unveiled its KTM 390 Duke-rivalling, sub-500cc motorcycle, the CB300R for international markets, and it is likely to arrive in India in the near future. The changes to the 2024 iteration of the CB300R are limited to styling upgrades, and here we explain all the details about this motorcycle.
What’s new on the 2024 Honda CB300R?
For 2024, the CB300R gets two new colours – Matte Black Metallic and Pearl Dusk Yellow. Both these paint schemes will go on sale in the US very soon. Meanwhile, the colour options available for the current model sold in India include Matte Steel Black and Pearl Spartan Red. The design remains unaltered, and the 2024 Honda CB300R retains a neo-retro styling that comprises a round headlight at the front, an aggressive shape for the fuel tank, radiator shrouds, an engine cowl, split-style seats, and a side-slung exhaust. The canister gets a brushed aluminium finish for the tip and the heat shield.
What are the mechanical specifications of the 2024 Honda CB300R?
Similar to the design, the mechanical specifications, too, remain unchanged. Thus, the 2024 Honda CB300R retains the 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this engine delivers a maximum output of 30.7bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 27.5Nm at 7,500rpm.
What hardware does the 2024 Honda CB300R use?
The hardware is similar to that of its predecessor as well, and the 2024 Honda CB300R retains the upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock to handle the suspension duties. Then, the anchoring tasks are handled by a 296mm, petal-type front disc and a 220mm, petal-type rear rotor. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod in Dunlop-sourced 150/60R-17-section rear and 110/70R-17-section front tyres.
What features does the 2024 Honda CB300R get?
The feature list isn’t as comprehensive as the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, and the 2024 Honda CB300R misses out on a Bluetooth module. However, it still gets full-LED lighting (headlight, indicators, and taillight), a digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and a slipper clutch mechanism. The onboard inertial measurement unit (IMU) aims to deliver a precise front-to-rear distribution of ABS operation.
What are the India launch details of the 2024 Honda CB300R?
The India launch details for the 2024 Honda CB300R are not available yet. However, we may see the updated model in our market in early 2024. Once launched, the 2024 Honda CB300R will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, TVS Apache RR310-based roadster, and BMW G 310 R in India.
