The Indian Roadmaster Elite is a bagger-style, full fat, American motorcycle and it looks every bit as special as the price that it commands. At Rs 71.82 lakh, ex-showroom, it finds itself in a niche that, perhaps, only a select few can afford. Here’s a look at it through images.
What immediately strikes you about the bike are its gargantuan proportions. From batwing fairing to the fuel tank and the swooping fenders, everything is size XL. The large panniers and the top case, which doubles up as a sofa style backrest for the pillion, are what adds to the visual mass. If you are looking for a bike with road presence, the Roadmaster Elite has dollops of it.
The Roadmaster Elite gets this special, commemorative paint scheme that looks stunning, to say the least. The interplay of the Candy Red colour with black, and gold-coloured letterings adds to the charm of the bike. There is no question that the bike will have people craning their necks for a second glance, as it rolls down the road.
It is powered by the Thunder Stroke 116, air-cooled, V-twin engine. This 1,890cc unit makes 120bhp and 170Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine is one of the smoothest in the business
Under the expansive bodywork, the frame is suspended by a 46mm telescopic fork and a monoshock with an air adjust system. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels while braking duties are taken care of by 300mm discs at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear.
Indian Motorcycles has added every feature imaginable to the Roadmaster Elite and ones that stand out include heated and cooled seats as well as the 600-watt, 12-speaker music system.
The bike is limited to 350 units worldwide and that makes it an ultra-exclusive purchase.
