- Limited to 350 units worldwide
- Gets exclusive paintjob
- Powered by a 1890cc, air-cooled, V-twin that makes 120bhp and 170Nm
Indian Motorcycles have taken the wraps off the 2024 Roadmaster Elite, a limited edition motorcycle that features a lot of special bits that sets it apart from the “standard” Roadmaster. It also costs special money but more on that later. For now, let's delve into the details.
To begin with, the Roadmaster Elite gets a triple-tone paint scheme, with predominantly red colours with dollops of black thrown in to add contrast. The Candy Red colour, as it is officially called, is an ode to the company’s iconic Red paint that was seen on its bikes in 1904.
What also makes the Elite’s paintjob so special is that it is hand-finished and bits like the gold-coloured letterings and logos, the red stitching on the seat and the 10-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels make the bike truly stand out. Speaking of, there’s no chance one will miss seeing the Roadmaster Elite on the road given its gargantuan size.
An Indian that bears the Elite nametag is expected to be loaded with features. You’ve got LED lights with cornering functionality, a 600-watt music system, TFT display with Apple CarPlay, heated and cooled seats, and a lot more.
Powering the bike is Indian’s Thunder Stroke 116, air-cooled, V-twin engine. This 1890cc unit makes 120bhp and 170Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. It is known to offer oodles of torque, with a strong punch in the midrange while also remaining pretty refined for its size.
The Indian Roadmaster Elite is limited to 350 units across the world and is priced at $41,999 or Rs 34.85 lakh. However, factor in our import duties and tax structure, and we can see the price balloon to double that figure if not more. Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting to see if Indian Motorcycles considers bringing the bike to our shores.
