-Receives fresh styling
-Euro 5 compliant inline-4 engine makes 128bhp
-Gets a new TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity
Kawasaki India has launched the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R at a starting price of Rs 11.09 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the updated Ninja ZX-6R roughly Rs 60,000 more expensive than the earlier model that was discontinued post the introduction of stricter emission norms.
The updates to the ZX-6R include refreshed styling that looks more aggressive than the previous bike and in line with the current crop of Kawasaki Ninjas, like the ZX-10R. Kawasaki is offering the bike in two colours- Metallic Graphite Grey and Lime Green. The 2024 ZX-6R is powered by a Euro-5/ BS6 compliant, 636cc, inline-four engine that produces 128bhp and 69Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that has a quickshifter. Kawasaki has also replaced the old LCD with a modern TFT unit with Bluetooth connectivity. It also features four ride modes -- Sport, Road, Rain or Rider (manual).
The motor sits inside a perimeter frame that’s suspended by adjustable Showa SFF-BP forks and a link-type monoshock. The braking duties, meanwhile, are taken care of by twin, 310mm discs at the front with radially mounted calipers and a 220mm disc at the rear.
The pricing of the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is impressive considering it hasn’t gone up by much over the bike it replaces. The bike was always regarded to be an easy-to-ride 600cc-class bike that acts as the proper stepping stone for people graduating from 400cc bikes to 1000cc-class motorcycles. As far as competition is concerned, the Ninja ZX-6R goes up against the Aprilia RS 660. The Italian bike, however, is priced at a significantly higher price of Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom)
