Kawasaki India has launched the 2024 version of the Z650RS, its modern-retro street naked that's based on the Z650. The bike gets a new colourway and the addition of traction control to its features list. Here’s a close look at the motorcycle in images.
The Z650RS’s design is one of its biggest highlights and Kawasaki has done a great job of blending modern and retro lines to result in a charming appearance. Bits like the round LED headlight, the teardrop shaped fuel tank, the side panels and the tiny tail section are what give the bike that retro-bike design flair.
Powering the Z650RS is a 649cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 68bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist function.
Kawasaki has offered a reasonably decent set of features on the Z650RS. It gets all-LED lights and a two-mode traction control system. Mode One offers least intervention and allows the bike to be ridden in a sporty manner. The other Mode brings this electronic nanny to full alertness and is useful while riding over slippery road surfaces such as rain-soaked tarmac.
The Z650RS has a steel-trellis frame, with a conventional telescopic fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends, shod with Dunlop tyres.
Braking duties are taken care of by twin, 272mm discs at the front and a 186mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
Kawasaki has introduced the 2024 Z650RS in India in one colour option, Ebony Metallic Matte Carbon Gray.
