Kawasaki recently launched the 2024 Z650RS in India. The motorcycle gets feature additions and a new colourway for 2024. Let’s take a look at the top five highlights of the 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS.
New updates
The most significant update comes in the form of a new Ebony Metallic Matte Carbon Gray colourway. It is the only paint scheme offered on the new Z650RS. Moreover, the motorcycle also comes loaded with a switchable traction control system that has two modes.
Retro styling
In terms of styling, the new Kawasaki Z650RS continues to be similar to the outgoing model. It carries over the modern-retro design, which is highlighted by a circular LED headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a slim tail section.
Cycle parts
The motorcycle is underpinned by a steel trellis frame, which is suspended by conventional telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the back. The retro roadster rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are designed in such a way that they resemble spoke wheels. Meanwhile, braking tasks are performed by dual 272mm discs up front and a 186mm disc at the rear.
Engine specifications
Powering the 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS is the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine that also powers the Ninja 650 and the Z650. The motor produces 68bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6,700rpm. It is linked with a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
Features
Feature-wise, the Z650RS isn’t a tech fest. Barring the addition of a traction control system, it gets LED lighting all around, assist and slipper clutch, and a twin-pod instrument console with analogue dials and an LCD readout. The digital display shows information such as a gear position indicator, fuel level, engine temperature, and more.
The Kawasaki Z650RS rivals the Triumph Trident 660 and the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 650 Retro Street. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
