The all-new 2024 KTM 390 Duke is just around the corner, and the launch is expected sooner than later. The motorcycle was spied testing sans camouflage recently, revealing its design entirely. Now, while we wait for the official launch of the new-gen KTM 390 Duke, here’s everything you need to know about the Austrian hooligan.
What will the design and styling be like?
The most significant change comes in the form of a completely overhauled styling. The new 390 Duke features an updated LED headlight unit with boomerang-style split DRLs. The tank design is new as well and the aerodynamically designed tank shrouds extend all the way beyond the forks.
The chassis has been redesigned too, while the composite rear sub-frame looks inspired by the KTM 890 Duke. On the other hand, the rear view mirrors are similar to the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
What will the engine specifications be like?
The next-generation KTM 390 Duke is expected to feature a reworked engine. If rumours are to be believed, the new 390 Duke is likely to get a 399cc mill, with the focus being on tractability and refinement. The spy images also suggest a slightly different design to its crankcase and head. We can expect a bump in power figures over its current version that pumps out 43bhp and 37Nm.
Besides the updated motor, the new Duke range will also feature a new gullwing-type swing arm and an underbelly exhaust.
What cycle parts will it get?
The new 390 Duke is expected to be even sportier than the existing model. And, the agility will be provided by an all-new chassis and RC 390-sourced lighter wheels that should offer lower rolling resistance. Spy pictures have revealed that it could get adjustable WP USD forks up front and an adjustable WP mono-shock. Braking force will come from disc brakes at both ends, while dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode will be carried over.
What will be its launch date and price?
We believe KTM will follow their tradition of unveiling the new-gen 390 Duke later this year in November at the EICMA 2023 and given that KTM will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Duke series in 2024, we believe a market launch will take place sometime in early 2024. With a number of changes on the cards, we expect the 2024 KTM 390 Duke to cost around Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom), considering the current version costs Rs. 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
