- Same as the India-spec model
- Priced at RM 17,800 (approximately Rs. 3.46 lakh)
Suzuki recently launched the 2024 iteration of its quarter-litre adventure tourer, the V-Strom SX, in Malaysia. The motorcycle has been priced at RM 17,800 (approximately Rs. 3.46 lakh) in the country where it competes against the likes of the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 and Honda CRF250 Rally both of which are more adventure-centric motorcycles than the Suzuki.
The V-Strom SX in Malaysia is identical to the India-spec model. It is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26.1bhp and 22.2Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed gearbox and it misses out on a slipper clutch. The hardware package comprises a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combination that is suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with non-adjustable, dual-channel ABS as standard.
In terms of design, the V-Strom SX takes inspiration from its bigger mid-size and litre-class siblings with an oval-shaped headlamp, a tall windscreen, a front beak, an angular fairing, and a long and stubby tail section. The feature list comprises an LED headlight and tail lamp and a Bluetooth-enabled fully digital instrument cluster. Apart from the ride-related information, the console shows alerts on incoming messages, calls, and turn-by-turn navigation. A USB charging slot and a rear luggage rack are also part of the package.
In India, Suzuki retails the V-Strom SX for Rs. 2.12 lakh. In terms of pricing and body style, its closest rival is the Yezdi Adventure which starts from Rs. 2.10 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
