- Comes in a new black and yellow paint scheme
- Mechanical specifications remain unchanged
- India launch could take place soon
Triumph has updated most of its motorcycles for 2024 in the international markets. It’s just a matter of time before all these updated bikes land in India as well. While the British brand tweaked its higher-end models, the list also includes its mid-size roadster, the Trident 660, which used to be Triumph’s entry-level offering before the introduction of the new Speed 400.
Just like all other updated Triumph motorcycles, the Trident 660 has received visual change only in the form of a new colour option - Jet Black and Triumph Racing Yellow. As the name suggests, most of the bike’s bodywork sports black paint accompanied by contrasting yellow accents present on the front fender, radiator cowl, and underside of the tail section. Moreover, the company’s logo on the bike’s fuel tank in a large font size shouts of it being a Triumph.
Triumph has kept the 2024 Trident 660 unchanged on the mechanical front. Hence, it continues to be powered by a 660cc, inline triple-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 80bhp of maximum power output and 64Nm of peak torque. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. The electronics package of this roadster comprises full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, two riding modes (Road and Rain), and dual-channel ABS.
In India, the existing model of the Triumph Trident 660 is priced at Rs. 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) which will certainly go up with the introduction of the 2024 iteration. The motorcycle competes against the Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650R.
