- 2024 MT-09 updated
- Comes with new hardware and features
- No word about India launch
Yamaha has taken the wraps off the 2024 MT-09 for international markets and updated the bike in almost every aspect.
First is the hardware that it comes with. The 2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP is fitted with new DLC-coated 41mm KYB front forks that are fully adjustable. Then there is the Ohlins monoshock at the rear with a remote pre-load adjuster. You also get a new pair of brakes on the 2024 model; a pair of top-spec Brembo Stylema calipers at the front that clamp onto a pair of 298mm discs. The setup also includes a Brembo radial master cylinder. At the rear, the MT-09 SP comes with 245mm discs with switchable ABS as standard.
The new model also offers Yamaha Ride Control which allows riders to tune the engine power and electronic rider aids. It is also the first naked motorcycle from Yamaha to comes with the Smart Key System. This key fob enabled you to start the engine with a simple flick of the ignition switch. However, it is an added convenience since the key fob can unlock and lock the fuel cap as well.
Other than this, the 2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP also comes with a new design like the standard MT-09. So the motorcycle looks more radical now and is offered in a single blue and silver colour option. Well, Yamaha hasn’t changed the 890cc, CP3 engine from the previous version. However, the unit is now Euro-5 compliant.
Now, we know that Yamaha is looking to launch the MT-09 in India. But whether or not the brand plans to launch the SP here is yet to be known.
