- Launched in Europe
- Cost significantly more than what it retails for in India
- Gets the same engine, features, design, and more
Yamaha has launched the 2024 RayZR in the European market and its asking price there stands at a staggering EUR 2,549 which is an equivalent of Rs. 2.30 lakh when converted to the Indian currency. For reference, the same model retails at Rs. 92,930 (ex-showroom, Delhi) here for its top-spec version. The asking price in Europe results from the import duties that the company bears as the scooter is manufactured mostly in Asian countries including India.
That said, the Europe-spec Yamaha RayZR is identical to what we get in India. It boasts the same sharp, youthful, sporty design with elements like the small front visor, apron-integrated LED headlight, and single-piece seat.
Powering the 2024 Yamaha RayZR is a 125cc single-cylinder engine. However, the power figures for the Euro-spec model are slightly lower as it makes 8.1bhp and 9.7Nm instead of 8.2bhp and 10.3Nm.
Apart from LED illumination, it features a start-and-stop system and an LCD console for better fuel economy. However, Yamaha offers the RayZR in India with smartphone connectivity too which isn’t the case in Europe. Further, the scooter gets a front disc and rear drum and rear disc option in our country whereas Yamaha Europe only gets a rear drum option. Its suspension setup is the same – telescopic front forks and rear monoshock.
Overall, the scooter is quite affordable in India, thanks to the localisation. Not to mention, we also get more colour options to choose from.
