Yezdi’s updated motorcycle, the 2024 Adventure, recently made its debut. It has received a few tweaks in its latest iteration and continues to rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. So, we have pitted the two ADVs on paper and here is the result.
Design
Yezdi has carried forward the same design for the latest Adventure as well. It features a round LED headlight, a transparent visor, a secondary beak, handlebar guards, tank braces, a split seat, and a tail rack. The setup is quite quintessential and purposeful. Meanwhile, the Himalayan 450 also sports a similar set of elements but appears bigger in terms of proportions. However, the Himalayan 450 gets an integrated setup for the tail light and the turn indicators, which appears slightly neat but doesn’t make the bike look as tall as it is, from the rear profile.
Features
For 2024, Yezdi has retained the features list on the Adventure. It gets LED illumination, ride modes, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a phone charger, and ABS. The Himalayan 450 also has the same features as the Yezdi Adventure but gets a screen-mirroring based navigation setup. The latter looks better than the turn-by-turn layout.
Engine
Powering the Yezdi Adventure is a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that belts out 29.68bhp and 29.84Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The Himalayan 450 is powered by a 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. It makes 40bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,000rpm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The Himalayan gets a bigger engine that makes notably more power and torque than the Yezdi.
Hardware
Yezdi has carried over the telescopic front forks and a monoshock alongside the front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The setup is mounted on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup wrapped in off-road rubber. The Himalayan 450 rides on USD front forks and a monoshock. Its braking duties too are done by a front and rear disc brake mounted on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear conventional spoke wheels. The Yezdi Adventure weighs 187kg whereas the Himalayan 450 tips the scale at 196kg. The weight difference could make a difference in handling and overall usability in everyday applications.
Price
The Yezdi Adventure's asking price is Rs. 2.10 lakh and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 retails at Rs. 2.85 lakh (both, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Yezdi Adventure undercuts the Himalayan 450 by a significant amount. However, it comes at the cost of less power and slightly fewer features. But which of the two bikes is better in the real world? Stay tuned to BikeWale for our real-world comparison test.
