- 2025 450X launched with a starting price of Rs. 1.47 lakh
- Gets three traction control modes
- Comes with an increased battery range
Ather Energy has launched the 2025 iteration of its oldest-running electric scooter, the 450X. The scooter has received a host of changes along with a price hike. The 2.9kWh variant now costs Rs. 1.47 lakh while the 3.7kWh trim is pegged at Rs. 1.57 lakh which makes them pricier by Rs. 6,400 and Rs. 2,000, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom). These scooters can also be equipped with the optional Pro pack which costs Rs. 17,000 for the former and Rs. 20,000 for the latter.
The updates have come in the form of additional features and the most noteworthy is the inclusion of three traction control modes – Rain, Road, and Rally. As the names suggest, these modes deliver varying levels of TC intervention making them suitable for different riding scenarios. For those who want full control of things, the option to turn TC completely off is also available.
Ather’s Magic Twist regenerative braking system has also been trickled down to the 450X from the 450 Apex. This regen is so strong that it can negate the usage of conventional brakes in most scenarios, says Ather. On the hardware front, the 450X gets a new set of tyres that have been co-developed with MRF. Called the Zapper N e-Tred tyres, these rubbers are claimed to increase the real-world range of the scooter by around 25 per cent due to lower rolling resistance. The claimed true range of the 2.9kWh version has gone up from 85km to 105km while that of the 3.7kWh trim stands at 130km, which is 25km more than before.
Those opting for the Pro Pack will get the new AtherStack 6 software integrated into the scooter. It brings along a host of practical features like Google Maps, Alexa pairing, WhatsApp notification on dashboard, Ping My Scooter, and live location sharing. Furthermore, the company is also offering the Ather Duo 700W home charger with the 2.9kWh variant of the 450X which can juice the battery up from zero to 80 per cent in three hours.
